Where & When

On December 1st, 2025, the first hunt begins at Medway Valley Heritage Forest which winds along the creek through steep valley slopes, sweeping bluffs, and quiet meadows. The competition ends when someone finds the trophy.

Follow the Clues

Clues will be released via this newsletter until the trophy is found. There are two types of clues: satellite images, and videos from the trophy site

Clue Type #1

Satellite images that progressively narrow the search area.

Clue Type #2

Videos from the site that hint at the surroundings.

That’s it. No complex riddles, ciphers, or bloodhounds necessary.

Claiming the Prize

The trophy will be a physical object (roughly shoe-sized) hidden within 20 feet of a marked trail. No digging, climbing, or acrobatics required. The first clue on December 1st will reveal exactly what the trophy looks like.

Trophy to be unveiled on Day 1

Once you find it, claim your victory by:

  • Recording a video of yourself with the trophy where it was discovered

  • Send the video to @hikethedawntrail on Instagram via direct message

Your video proves you found the treasure and earns you the prize: currently $100 and some local goodies.

The rules are simple: Be safe, play nice, and take care of the trail. Click here for the full version of the rules.
